Mar 20, 2020Posted by Forno Bravo

We’re channeling our inner Italian today by sharing this fun and informative video by Maestro Vito Iacopelli. Born in Bari, Italy, he currently hails from Los Angeles. The Maestro has made a great how-to video for preparing a pizza with organic purple potato cream sauce, mozzarella,  sausage, fennel, and mushrooms using a friend’s wood and gas fired Vesuvio

Maestro Vito has officially been a pizzaiolo since 1993, and a master chef since 2010. His love of Neapolitan-style pizza goes back through 3 generations of pizza makers on both his mother and father’s sides of the family. In fact, he started making pizzas in the family restaurant at 7-8 years old! Chef Vito is the owner of Prova Catering, and part-owner of Prova Pizzeria (a top rated pizza place in Los Angeles by Zagat and Gambero Rosso,) as well as Di Frabo Restaurant. His newest restaurant is Provami Pizzeria in Melrose, CA.

He’s won several top awards, both nationally and internationally for his Neapolitan pizza. These including recent 2nd and 3rd place finishes in the prestigious Neapolitan pizza competitions at the International Pizza Expo, marking him as one of the best pizza makers in the world! He loves sharing his passion and teaching others through videos on his popular YouTube channel, “Pizza-TV – The Art of Pizza.”
