2022 Summer Photo Contest Honorable Mentions: Ovens

Sep 29, 2022Posted by Forno Bravo

With so many beautiful and original ovens to choose from in the 2022 Summer Photo Contest entries, narrowing down the list to just 5 Honorable Mentions was incredibly difficult. There were so many more we could have chosen. (Be sure to watch our social media pages for more photos and stories in the coming weeks and months.)

Following are some of the best of the best oven photos and our favorite entries. Congratulations to these honorees and thank you for being a part of our contest and community! Your images inspire us all.

Lloyd and Kathleen Chasey of California – Casa2G 90

“We were inspired by the beautiful abalone shells on the beach close to our home, so decided to mosaic the oven. Applied with a thin set mortar and finished with an epoxy coating. We love it!”

Jason Scarfi of New Jersey – Vesuvio 110

“We just got our Vesuvio 110 delivered a little over two weeks ago and we patiently waited for our contractors to place it in its spot in our new backyard kitchen. This picture is the first fire lit to start the curing process. The craftsmanship is exceptional and will be quite the conversational piece at our BBQs. We look forward to making delicious pizzas and so much more once the curing process is complete!”

Sidney Cammeresi of Indiana – Casa2G 100

“Love the ease of assembly. The pizzas that come out of it are amazing! It turned out better than I ever imagined. But most importantly, I love the way it attracts and pulls our family and friends together to enjoy good food, good times, and make so many memories.”

Linda Inzucchi of Connecticut – Giardino 70

“I love that our Forno Bravo is a statement piece in our outdoor kitchen. It is a gathering place for all our friends and family to share memories and engage in the creative process of making personalized pizzas; catering to individual tastes, as well as inspiring new flavor combinations. It’s the best part of our outdoor entertaining and never fails to impress!”

John Thornley of Nova Scotia – DIY Custom

“Having lived in Africa, our Italian neighbors inspired my oven by the one that they had in their courtyard. A treasured thought that has lived with me, and a project I’ve treasured ever since. The dome style is constructed from WWll battleship boiler liner bricks. The Kruzite bricks retain the heat exceedingly well. I enjoy the opportunity to bake bread for the week, as the oven retains the heat (300°- 400°c) for 2-3 days. Friend and family gatherings are a blast where everyone enjoys making their own pizza.”
