Welcome to the Pizza Quest Photo Gallery!

As the saying goes, "A picture is worth a thousand words", so we're going to let these photos, and the ones to come, help tell the stories for us. The Gallery will serve as our Pizza Quest photo album, capturing the flavors of each journey we go on.

We also want to encourage you to send us your best pizza photos and we'll create a page for our favorites--be sure to give us the who, what, where and any other relevant background info. To post photos and join other discussions go to the PQ Forum and create threads, or join them and start sharing!  Also, don't forget to friend us and post photos on the Pizza Quest Facebook page!

Pizza and Obsession is our first Gallery page. It is a compilation of photos from our maiden quest, during the late summer of 2009. We launched from Los Angeles and made our way up the coast to San Francisco. If anyone doubted that there was good pizza on the west coast, think again! We not only found what Peter calls "memorable" pizza, but also, great fish tacos, coastal oysters, and gourmet, trend-setting ice cream along the way. Pizzeria Basta

We have just introduced Kelly Whitaker of Pizzeria Basta with his Bel Gioioso Burrata Cheese appetizer in the Instructional section.  Let me just say that this is a recipe you will want to try at home.  I have personally made this 3 times since I returned from the trip.  As Kelly says, he uses whatever he has in season, or on hand.  I have done my versions with Leeks, Scallions and Red Onions and each time it was wonderful.  Here is a little introduction about Kelly's amazing pizzeria in Boulder, Co.  I hope these pictures do his place justice!

Basta, which means "enough" in Italian, represents the philosophy of our restaurant. We believe that simple, properly prepared food and a good bottle of wine are all you need for a satisfying meal.

Please enjoy some of the photos from The Ultimate Pie workshop put on by Joseph Pergolizzi of The Fire Within where Peter was a special guest speaker/chef.  It was an amazing weekend, where Peter came to teach, but also learned from a great group of mobile wood-fired oven pizza operators, as well as home chefs from across the country, who attended Joseph's conference. We were treated to some great food, local ingredients, and a beautiful fall weekend in Boulder, Colorado.

Thanks to our sponsor Bel Gioioso Cheese, we were able to bring our film crew and attend the seminar with Peter and shoot some great footage that you will begin to see over the coming months!
