The Millstone

The Millstone, Windmill Flour Production

Millstone is typically made from granite, which is very hard, and difficult to cut and shape. Still, it was worth the effort. Researchers have found that some North American tribes used softer stone, which left small grains of sand in their milled corn — which over time wore down the tribe’s teeth.
