Pizza Talk: Derek Sanchez and the Journey of a Healer Turned World Pizza Champion
Derek Sanchez named his pizza truck Mia Marco’s Pizza after his two kids, but his journey began well before then and took an upward swing soon thereafter. Operating out of the Old Main Ice House in Cibolo, Texas,(just outside of San Antonio) this still practicing doctor of physical therapy followed his bliss and, through sheer resilience and persistence, dedicated his non medical hours, helping athletes heal their bodies and restore themselves to perfection, to perfecting his own craft of pizza making. He got so good at it that Derek was soon winning competitions and got invited to join the World Pizza Champions team. Like so many competitors, his quest for excellence is endless and knows no bounds and recognizes no limitations. In this insightful conversation and demonstration, Derek will take us all along with him on his inspiring journey.
