Jim Ruddell, RIP
We just received notice that one of our beloved Pizza Quest stars, Jim Ruddell, of Ruddell’s Smokehouse in Cayucos, CA, passed away. We featured Jim during our first season, and he also makes a short appearance in our highlight webisode, Pizza as Obsession, which is always found at the top of the Home Page. As Brad English reminded me, the smoked salmon fish taco he had when we filmed with Jim was one of the highlights of our whole filming tour up and down the California coast. As a tribute, here is the webisode of when we visited the Smokehouse during our tour of the sweet coastal town of Cayucos. If you’d like to revist the whole Cayucos series, just go to page 7 of the Webisode archive, beginning with our stop at the Taco Temple, and then scroll up (they are listed in reverse order — a quirk of the software), and enjoy them all. But especially say a prayer for Jim and his family — he will be missed.
If you’d like to read a tribute to Jim, here’s a link to an article from the San Luis Obispo News: http://www.sanluisobispo.com/news/local/article202554079.html
