Insulation board for the do it yourself oven builder
Pizza oven insulation board is ideal for use as an insulator underneath your pizza oven and brick oven. It is a high strength, high-efficiency Alumina Silicate board originally designed for industrial applications, such as aluminum melting and holding furnaces. One 2″ (5 cm) thick layer of FB Insulation Board panel reduces the 800ºF (427 celsius) cooking floor of a pizza oven to roughly 170ºF (77 celsius) at equilibrium, making it roughly twice as efficient as pure Vermiculite board, and even more efficient than castable Vermiculite and Portland cement mixes.
FB insulation board is easy to install and to work with, lightweight and easy to ship and handle, easy to cut and glue, and high compression strength to support pizza ovens and brick ovens.
FB insulation board comes standard in ALL Forno Bravo residential modular oven kits and commercial modular oven kits. Many competitors do not provide a pizza oven insulation sheet for the hearth asking you to purchase vermiculite or perlite and mix it with Portland cement. This is an added cost to the do it yourself oven builder that often isn’t considered when making a purchase.
We highly recommend this pizza oven insulation board regardless if you are building your own pizza oven from scratch, using a Forno Bravo modular oven kit, or opted to purchase a competitors’ oven.
