Title Perlcrete on chicken wire on metal flex elbow for flue.
Description (M) I chose to place my chimney *not* in the center, in front of the ridge beam, but slightly to one side of it. I used 2 metal flex elbows which I adjusted in an S curve; then covered them with chicken wire, and finally with Perlcrete insulation.

(M) If the flue pipe ever rusts, there will remain a cylinder of Perlcrete to guide smoke up the chimney. This solution works for those who don't want to, or structurally should not use heavy clay tile for their flue. It also precludes intersecting the flue with the gable house frame's ridge beam.
