Welcome to Pizza Talk (Intro and Episode 1: The Pizza Yodi’s)
Welcoming to our new series, Pizza Talk, presented by Pizza Quest. This first posting features a short welcome segment followed by our kick-off episode, featuring our panel of dough and pizza guru’s, John Arena and Brian Spangler. I call them our Pizza Yodi’s. Over the next few months we’ll be adding to our Yodi panel in a never-ending quest to explore the full gamut of knowledge collectively held by our pizza and artisan community. We’ll also be doing a number of one-on-one interviews with some of the best and the brightest in the world of pizza and all things connected to it. We take seriously our motto, “A journey of self-discovery through pizza,” so be prepared for some deep, thoughtful conversations as well as lots of fun and entertaining features.
Note: When we taped these first sessions with our Pizza Yodi’s we were new to the Zoom world, so you will notice a number of freeze-frame moments and synchronization issues, as well awkward movements when I thought the camera wasn’t on me. We decided to post them anyway because we felt the content was so good that it would be difficult to recreate it by doing it over again. Over the next few weeks and months you will notice that the audio and video aspects improve, so thank you for hanging in there with us and for checking back regularly. We plan to post at least two episodes a week, sometimes three or even four, so click here to join our mailing list for regular updates to our posting schedule.
Over the next few months you’ll be seeing and hearing from of the most important pizza makers and artisan growers and producers in the world. We’ll also be posting a regular weekly series called “Pizza Box of the Week, with Scott Wiener.” (We actually came up with this idea during our one-on-one interview with Scott, which we’ll post in the next couple of weeks). In these short, fun-filled episodes, Scott shares with us pizza boxes from his Guinness Book of Records collection. Look for the first episode in that series beginning next week. More details to come on all of this via our mailing list but, for now, enjoy the premier episode of Pizza Talk, presented by Pizza Quest. Pizza Quest Info
Pizza Quest is a site dedicated to the exploration of artisanship in all forms, wherever we find it, but especially through the literal and metaphorical image of pizza. As we share our own quest for the perfect pizza we invite all of you to join us and share your journeys too. We have discovered that you never know what engaging roads and side paths will reveal themselves on this quest, but we do know that there are many kindred spirits out there, passionate artisans, doing all sorts of amazing things. These are the stories we want to discover, and we invite you to jump on the proverbial bus and join us on this, our never ending pizza quest.
