Pizza Quest, Season Three, Episode 1: “Pizza Quest,” the book!
Welcome to a new season of Pizza Quest (previously referred to as Pizza Talk)! This season we’re going to push the envelope of that key word, Quest, and delve deeper into its meaning and how it plays out in the lives of our guests. Of course, we won’t abandon that other key word, Pizza, but many of the upcoming episodes will expand our scope, exploring our deeper missions: “A journey of self-discovery through pizza,” and also “A celebration of artisanship wherever we find it.” I think you’ll enjoy coming with us on these explorations, meeting a number of very interesting and inspiring people along the way.
To kick off this new season, however, I’ve invited one of our regular contributors and Pizza Yodi, Brian Spangler (owner of Apizza Scholl’s in Portland, Oregon), to flip the script and interview this week’s guest — me! I’m here to announce the release of our long awaited book, “Pizza Quest, My Never-Ending Search for the Perfect Pizza,” and to answer Brian’s questions about the book. Brian, by the way, is one of 30 contributors to the book, which grew out of the first two seasons of Pizza Talk, and brings the reader over 35 recipes that pay tribute to the many pizza luminaries who appeared on episodes of our show. We’ll take you behind the scenes of this book, which is now officially published and available via your favorite book sellers.
Thank you Brian for helping us launch Pizza Talk and, also, for being the inspiration for two of the pizzas featured in the book. In this interview, we’ll discuss what I call the Eleventh Commandment of Pizza: It’s more about the quest than it is about the pizza, and quest never ends!
Join us as we launch a brand new season of Pizza Quest!
