Pizza Quest Season Three, Episode 2: Alan Cahn, The Transformation-Meister
Hi Everyone, and welcome back to a new and different kind of season on Pizza Quest. For the past few years we referred to these interviews as Pizza Talk, but this season our focus is broadening and will be more about the quest than the pizza (but we won’t forget pizza, too!).
In this new episode I’m catching up with Alan Cahn, one of my oldest and dearest friends — a brother from another mother, as the saying goes. He is also what I refer to as a transformation-meister, who has dedicated his life to helping others achieve their highest aspirations and personal self-discovery. Alan and I started out in food together, as part of a restaurant collective in Boston, Root One Cafe, 51 years ago (yes, 51, that’s not a typo), After three years of cooking lots of organic vegetables and creative casseroles, and pressing hundreds of gallons of carrot juice, while all our restaurant team members (Rooters, we called ourselves) pursued enlightenment in our own ways, we eventually moved on and each of us followed our personal quests as the road unfolded before us. Alan and I, though, never lost contact as we shared our latest discoveries with each other. You’ll hear all about it, as well as receiving Alan’s sage guidance for those wanting to raise their own game to the highest levels of excellence, whether in pizza or life, in this new episode of Pizza Quest.
