Default My Oven in Andalusia

I finished building my oven last night in the south of Spain, Andalusia. Thanks to everyone who helped me with much needed advice : )



The idea for the beehive came from these dry stone hermitages in Skellig, Ireland:


Putting the 2 inches of Rockwool insulation around the side of the dome. This Rockwool blanket can sustain temperatures up to 670C (over 1200F). I also put Arlita around the blanket and doubled the thickness of the Rockwool layer at the top of the dome. Vermiculite and perlite was too difficult to find in Spain.

Nice design and plenty sturdy too. The view from your deck(?) is awesome!
