| I finished building my oven last night in the south of Spain, Andalusia. Thanks to everyone who helped me with much needed advice : ) ![]() The idea for the beehive came from these dry stone hermitages in Skellig, Ireland: ![]() Putting the 2 inches of Rockwool insulation around the side of the dome. This Rockwool blanket can sustain temperatures up to 670C (over 1200F). I also put Arlita around the blanket and doubled the thickness of the Rockwool layer at the top of the dome. Vermiculite and perlite was too difficult to find in Spain. ![]() My girlfriend standing on the dome:
