Simply delicious.<\/p><\/div>My Left-overs journey continues with my Cheese Steak Sandwich theme:\u00a0 I had also grilled up some sausages the previous night, which were sitting in the same container with my Tri-Tip.\u00a0 Now, nobody would want the sausage to feel left out, would they?\u00a0 Would you?\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>As I mentioned, I was using a can of Simply Red Tomatoes that I was given by Rob DiNapoli.\u00a0 My first pizza, a Tri-Tip based Cheese Steak Pizza, turned out great.\u00a0 The tomato sauce was a delicious foundation to this famous pizza sandwich combination.\u00a0 The tomatoes were bright and tasty and, dare I say, fresh tasting even though they came out of a can.\u00a0 I recently came upon my first pizzeria<div id=\"attachment_828\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-828\" class=\"caption alignright size-full wp-image-828\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/03\/_mg_0781.jpg\" border=\"0\" title=\"Reach in and squash these puppies between your fingers. \" align=\"right\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/03\/_mg_0781.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/03\/_mg_0781-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-828\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Reach in and squash these puppies between your fingers.<\/p><\/div> where that made their tomato sauce from fresh tomatoes every day.\u00a0 I will be telling you all about this place soon enough, but it was the first place I had come across that did this.\u00a0 Quality canned tomatoes are used by so many pizzeria because they are good, or even great, and also consistent.\u00a0 And, in this case, they were all of the above.\u00a0 Delicious.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>I wanted to use the grilled sausage and try another version of this concept, basically using the same ingredients as before, but what could I do differently?<\/p>\n<p>What about adding the tomatoes on top after the bake?\u00a0 I am a huge fan of this concept.<div id=\"attachment_829\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-829\" class=\"caption alignright size-full wp-image-829\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/03\/_mg_0784.jpg\" border=\"0\" title=\"In a few minutes you get this.  It's that easy. It&#8217;s that easy. Once you make it a few times following his recipe, you can start to do it on your own, just adding what feels right.\u00a0 This is so simple and tastes so fresh I really don&#8217;t see any reason to do anything else when I&#8217;m using a tomato sauce.\u00a0 When I first tried it after reading Peter&#8217;s book, &#8220;American Pie: My Search for the Perfect Pizza,&#8221; I literally thought, &#8220;This is it! This is the perfect pizza sauce.&#8221;\u00a0 Now I know perfect is not possible, but this may be an exception.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Build:<\/p>\n<p><div id=\"attachment_832\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-832\" class=\"caption alignright size-full wp-image-832\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/03\/_mg_0820.jpg\" border=\"0\" title=\"After about 7-8 minutes pull out the piping hot pie.\" align=\"right\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/03\/_mg_0820.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/03\/_mg_0820-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-832\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">After about 7-8 minutes pull out the piping hot pie.<\/p><\/div>Build the pizza by placing the Crushed Tomato Sauce on the dough.<\/p>\n<p>Add the mixture of Grated Mozzerella and Provolone<br \/> *I used about 3\/4 Mozzarella and 1\/4 Provolone <\/p>\n<p>Add the sliced Grilled Sausages <\/p>\n<p>Add saut\u00e9ed onions and peppers<\/p>\n<p>Place pizza into a pre-heated (550 Degree) oven on your pizza stone.\u00a0 If you have it, switch the oven over to Convection Bake.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><div id=\"attachment_833\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-833\" class=\"caption alignright size-full wp-image-833\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/03\/_mg_0824.jpg\" border=\"0\" title=\"It looked good, but we are not finished. You have to put the lid on this sandwich.<\/p><\/div>Check the pizza in about 7 Minutes.\u00a0 When it&#8217;s done, remove it.<\/p>\n<p>I have to point out the decent charring right out of my home oven!\u00a0 It makes a a visual and flavorful difference to the finished pizza.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s where the Tomato Sauce Sandwich comes in.\u00a0 I placed another layer of the cool\/room temperature Tomato Sauce on top of the hot pie.\u00a0 Looks good!\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>Add the chopped Jalape\u00f1os to your taste.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>Add a little grated Parmessan Cheese over the top if you like.<\/p>\n<p><div id=\"attachment_834\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-834\" class=\"caption alignright size-full wp-image-834\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/03\/_mg_0827.jpg\" border=\"0\" title=\"How good does this look?
