In this episode, I talk with Blaine Parker,<\/strong> the creator and host of the website Free the Pizza<\/a>,<\/strong><\/i> a site devoted to the unending quest to make pizza in a home oven as good as those from a pizzeria. Can it be done? Blaine says yes, and has written an entire book showing readers how, as well as posting humorous essays regularly on his site<\/a> to chronicle his journey. He also started a Pizza Prousti<\/i> thread here<\/a> inspired by Marcel Proust’s famous book, “Remembrance of Things Past,”<\/i>\u00a0(aka “In Search of Lost Time”<\/i>) in which I contributed a short essay of my fondest pizza memory. Proust wrote over 1,000 pages triggered by the taste memory of one Madeleine<\/em> cookie, so Blaine might have to collect 1,000 one-page vignettes like mine to get close to Proust’s accomplishment.<\/div>\n
