My mouth is watering! *Photo copied from website.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I was recently recommending some pizzerias for my brother to take his family while on a trip to New York City. I sent him a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unapizza.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">link<\/a> to Una Pizza Napoletana. \u00a0I told him about Anthony Mangieri and how he was one of the pizza greats who literally makes every pizza he serves. \u00a0After I sent him the link I poked around the website and checked out the menu and photo gallery and some of his great videos. \u00a0I just loved that photo of his Bianca Pizza and I knew I had to make it next time I fired up the oven.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5414\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5414\" class=\"wp-image-5414 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4637-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4637-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4637.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-5414\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Looking good in Redondo Beach!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>What I see in Anthony\u2019s original Bianca pizza is &#8220;balance&#8221;. \u00a0The simple ingredients blend together giving hints to their presence throughout but all support each other. \u00a0 On top of Anthony\u2019s beautiful dough (You have to try it in person some day!) the creamy buffalo mozzarella lays the foundation that is accented with sweet aromas of the garlic and fresh basil. Also, notice the bits and pops of charred crust and basil, which adds yet another layer to the flavor. Very nice!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5415\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5415\" class=\"wp-image-5415 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4638-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4638-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4638.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-5415\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A not-so bianca ingredient gets added.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>It was pizza time. \u00a0While shopping I found some fresh buffalo mozzarella at the store and picked up some fresh garlic and basil and planned on making my version of Anthony&#8217;s Bianca. Being 3000 miles from Una Pizza Napoletana my version of this pizza would just have to do.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5416\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5416\" class=\"wp-image-5416 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4639-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4639-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4639.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-5416\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Into the fire in my Primavera 60 wood fired oven!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>When I started to make the pizza, I felt like I wanted to add something else. \u00a0I had picked up some thinly sliced calabrese salami and knew that would hit the spot for me at that time.<\/p>\n<p>Despite my side step of a Bianca pizza, I did want to keep things balanced and only added a few torn pieces of the calabrese salami so that it became another hint &#8212; rather than allowing the spicy salty salami take it over the pizza. This was not going to become a fancy pepperoni pizza!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5419 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4648-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4648-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4648.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This came out beautifully! \u00a0It hit the perfect notes for what I was feeling and wanting to pull ot out of my wood fired oven and sink my teeth into. \u00a0There was that comforting savory simplicity, but also hits of a beautifully salty and spicy calabrese salami that just nailed it for me. \u00a0This was exactly what the doctor ordered!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5421 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4651-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4651-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4651.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>One of the interesting things about making pizza is that you are always able to play with your ideas and try something new. \u00a0You pick up ingredients at the store and almost always add or change things no matter what your original recipe plans were. Being able to feel your way through the process of making a pizza and then be tasting it hot out of the oven only minutes later is a unique and interesting thing about making pizza at home. \u00a0I often stumble on something and then make an adjustment on the 2nd pizza and nail it with the final ingredient! \u00a0My Bianca Calabrese pizza here is a great example.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5428\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5428\" class=\"wp-image-5428 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4648-Version-2-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4648-Version-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4648-Version-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4648-Version-2-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-5428\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Balance! Some of this and some of that&#8230;<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Cast of Ingredients:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Buffalo Mozzarella<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Garlic &#8211; thinly sliced<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Basil<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Calabrese Salami \u2013 always thinly sliced!<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Olive Oil<\/p>\n<p>*I sliced up some garlic super thin and put the slices in a ramekin and poured the olive oil over them sort of making a garlic oil that would be a toping and also a nice oil for use on this and other pizzas.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5424 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4654-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4654-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/06\/3Q7A4654.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Spread the dough.<\/p>\n<p>Add the mozzarella<\/p>\n<p>Add the garlic and oil<\/p>\n<p>Add the basil<\/p>\n<p>Tear pieces of the Salami up and place around pizza.\u00a0Balance! Give everything room.
