I had the pleasure of meeting her at the <strong><em>Forno Bravo Expo<\/em><\/strong> in Salinas, California, where hundreds of fellow fire-freaks gathered for a few days of food, wine, music, and wood-fire fun in the sun. Danica told me that, as a teenager, she was inspired by watching Nancy Silverton shape beautiful pizzas right here during our first season of <em>Pizza Quest<\/em>, so she spent hours practicing with her own dough balls (as she explains in the video) and, when she had it figured out, bought herself a mobile wood-fired oven and <em><strong>Tricycle Pizza<\/strong> <\/em>was born. In this webisode, Danica shares a little of her journey and her vision and, I predict, you will be quite impressed by her. In fact, since filming this interview, Danica has expanded her business and opened a unique brick and mortar version of <em>Tricycle Pizza<\/em> in Monterey, where the customers buy the pizzas outside, at the mobile oven (with her original tricycle parked alongside), and then bring them into her cafe to enjoy with friends and family.
