When you do it right, shrimps on a pizza literally snap when you bite them, and that&#8217;s a good thing! \u00a0Clams are right at home on a pizza. \u00a0After all, what do you do when eating steamers? \u00a0You sop up the sauce with bread. \u00a0On a pizza, it&#8217;s already done. The clams mix with the toppings and become part of the sauce and the crust is already there baking in all that glory.<\/p>\n<p>Crab is another fun one. \u00a0Crab all by itself, has a sweet and subtle taste. \u00a0I love drizzling it with lemon, or a little Vietnamese Fish Sauce mixed with chilies and just eating it on it&#8217;s own &#8211; warm or cold! \u00a0Another great way to enjoy crab is in a crab dip which is just cheesy goodness! \u00a0The cheese and crab combo just goes so well together, which is why crab dip and crab stuffed mushrooms and crab on a pizza makes total sense to me. \u00a0<em>Here&#8217;s one of my Crab Dip Pizzas:<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/instructionals\/59-written-recipes\/343-a-crab-dip-pizza.html\" target=\"_blank\">*Link<\/a><\/p>\n<p><div id=\"attachment_1303\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1303\" class=\"caption alignright size-full wp-image-1303\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/11\/_mg_4406.jpg\" border=\"0\" title=\"I'm going to make these as a topping next - slicing the finished stuffed mushrooms and placing them on a pizza. Interesting idea&#8230;<\/p><\/div>While I was making up some Crab Stuffed Mushrooms I decided to just make myself a Crab Stuffed Mushroom inspired pizza. \u00a0One idea I had was to bake the stuffed mushrooms and slice them up and use them as a topping. \u00a0I had that idea after I made a different pizza, where I went with a more traditional approach &#8212; just using the basic crab ingredients, but putting them on a pizza instead of stuffing the mushrooms. \u00a0<em>Crab Stuffed Mushroom Recipe:<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/instructionals\/59-written-recipes\/489-crab-stuffed-mushrooms.html\" target=\"_blank\">*Link<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I have been using an English White Cheddar for my stuffed mushrooms. \u00a0There is a boldness to a good cheddar, a sharpness. What I like about a good cheddar cheese is that while it&#8217;s bold it is also sweet. \u00a0As I write this, I actually have the sensation of tasting this cheese starting at the front roof of my mouth and then having it wash across the top of my mouth and down my throat! Fire&#8230;Pizza.<\/p><\/div>This is a no &#8220;sauce&#8221; pizza. \u00a0I drizzled olive oil on the crust which blends with the cheese and other ingredients to keep things moist.<\/p>\n<p>After the olive oil, add the grated cheddar. \u00a0Don&#8217;t put on too much because you want the cheese to blend with everything, not overpower it.<\/p>\n<p>Add the crab, onions, peppers mushrooms and place some basil leaves on top.<\/p>\n<p>Drizzle with a little more Olive Oil and slide her into the oven.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><div id=\"attachment_1306\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1306\" class=\"caption alignright size-full wp-image-1306\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/11\/_mg_4287.jpg\" border=\"0\" title=\"Wood Fired Crab and Mushroom Pizza\" align=\"right\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/11\/_mg_4287.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.fornobravo.com\/pizzaquest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/11\/_mg_4287-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1306\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Wood Fired Crab and Mushroom Pizza<\/p><\/div>You can see that there is plenty of &#8220;sauce&#8221;. \u00a0If you wanted more, you could add some cherry tomatoes cut in half and allow them to add to the moisture content as they bake in the oven, emitting more of their juices.<\/p>\n<p>Just like the Crab Stuffed Mushrooms I&#8217;ve been playing with, this pizza nails it! \u00a0The cheddar really goes well with the crab, and the other ingredients add texture and sweetness that also works well with the crab.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Slice it up and make sure to have some good chili oil around. \u00a0The spice is a nice finishing touch!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy!<\/p>\n<p>{gallery}crabstuffedmushroompizza{\/gallery}<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve made a number of pizzas over the years with seafood. \u00a0I like the uniqueness of how seafood blends and stands out as a topping on a pizza.
