Inspiration for Springtime Oven Builds

Apr 29, 2021Posted by Forno Bravo

Nature revels in an abundance and diversity of shapes, colors, and unique forms to fit various needs and places. Forno Bravo oven builds share some of these same traits. We frequently receive stories and photos from our customers, and the only thing they have in common is that no two builds are exactly the same. Each build focuses on a different tone, look, or layout to match the taste of the owners and the features of their space.

Enjoy some springtime inspiration for doing a build of your own in this showcase of ovens with several different types of finishes.

Let’s start off with a little stonework and see what other finishes we can find…

Rick B, TX – Casa2G100 – Stone Finish

Designing and building the stone work around our Casa 100 oven was a fun and rewarding project for my son and me. I have had the oven for 6 years and love making pizza for family, friends, and neighbors. Since owning the oven, I have averaged making over 200 pizzas each year from Memorial Day through Labor Day. I also enjoy baking bread and cooking other items in the oven like roasts, ham, vegetables, and appetizers. I love my Forno Bravo oven!”

Masonry work requires a ton of meticulous planning + plus an artistic flair.

Maya M, CA – Casa2G100 – Stucco Finish

“We saw a friend’s Forno Bravo pizza oven and were hooked. We custom designed the layout using Heath tile on the base. We love the versatility of our oven – using it often for pizzas, roasting meats, slow cooking stews, beans and potatoes. We’ve even roasted our Christmas leg of lamb in the oven. Our Forno Bravo is the focal point of our back garden and entertaining area. We can’t live without it!”

Brandon W, NY – Napolino60 – Tile Finish

“My 3 month project is finally complete! Started building this back in May (and finished in August.) It was my first time building cinder block walls and pouring a raised reinforced concrete slab to support a 1000lb wood fired pizza oven. THe oven came all the way from Salinas, CA from Forno BRavo and was installed by North Greece Landscape. The stone surround was by Brickler Masonry and the countertops by NAS Grantite. Thanks for all of the great help! Time to make some pizza!!!”

The Long View

Tom L, CA – Casa2G90 – Mixed Materials Finish

“The oven is fantastic for large parties or small gatherings. Everyone loves making their own pizzas and watching them cook. The following morning the oven is perfect for frittatas, followed by freshly baked bread.”

John H of Treebones Resort, CA – Napoli120– Tile Finish

Big Sur, CA is the home of Treebones Resort. Their yurts, cabins, and treehouses overlook the Pacific Ocean. Their new, custom tiled, candy apple red wood and gas Napoli120 is also perched on the cliffs above the waves. We loved their creative installation and the way they did not want to give up a single inch of their outdoor dining area. Bravo!

Clay B / Mike Rogers Masonry, CA – Casa2G90 – Stone Finish & Fireplace

Mike Rogers and his team do exquisite stone and tile work. They executed this commission for a pizza oven and fireplace combination to perfection. The owner, Clay B, and his family have already spent many hours making delicious pizza with friends, or with their feet kicked up just watching the flames. Dream it – design it – build it – enjoy it! Great teamwork, gentlemen, and a fantastic job all around!
