Coming Attractions, Week of Sept. 26th
Peter Reinhart

This is going to be a wild week for us, as we head to Denver on Friday to film the final stage of the great Pizza/Beer Challenge. I'll try to blog from there on Saturday, after the event (see the recent Peter's Blog for details on where and when we'll be filming, baking, and drinking the first Birra Basta).

So, no promises, but our plan is a new Peter's Blog on Tuesday, a recipe pictorial on Wed., a new Tony Gemignani video on Thursday, and a Guest Column from our friend Michael Hanson, the "Sacred Baker," on Friday (Michael's columns always generate lots of interest -- he's onto something that touches a nerve, or perhaps it's our souls).

In other words, unless the week's adventures make us crazy, we have a full week of new content ready to share with you. So do keep checking back and we'll keep bringing you new adventures in search of the perfect pizza. Even when we're on the road, there's always something new here at Pizza Quest....

Coming Attractions, Week of Sept. 19th

This week we're taking a break from the Tony G. webisode series but will be posting some other interesting and cool stuff for you before we return to him the following week:

On Tuesday, as usual, Peter's Blog will be back with more on the upcoming Pizza/Beer Challenge in Denver.

On Wednesday, another recipe from Brad, our intrepid home cook, eternally in search of the perfect home pizza.

On Thursday, I'll be posting the recipe for the dough we're using in the challenge, and we hope you'll make it as well.

On Friday, a new Guest Column.

We're gearing up for Denver so are scrambling to get all the logistics in place, but we'll keep putting up new content as often as we can, so keep checking back. There's always something new on Pizza Quest.

Coming Attractions, Week of Sept. 12th

Lots of new things this week, including Part Three of the Tony Gemignani webisode series on Thursday. If you haven't seen last week's webisode, check it out, as Tony shows how he makes his World Championship Margherita Pizza. This week, he shows us some new tricks.

Also, on Tuesday We'll continue exploring the beer/pizza parallels in Peter's Blog, which will include a report from Brad about his first taste of The Bruery Challenge Beer, while still in development, which will be unveiled on Sept. 30th at The Great American Beer Festival in Denver (we'll be filming all that for a future webisode, for those who are just joining us for the first time).

On Wednesday, we'll be posting an Instructional recipe and pictorial from Teresa Greenway, our sourdough expert, on sourdough dessert pizzas. You'll want to check that one out!

We're still working on the Friday Guest Column and am hoping it will be ready in time. If not, we'll put it up when it's ready. Things happen fast around here when they happen and then, sometimes, they don't. It's always something new, even for us, here at Pizza Quest.

Next Week, Tony Gemignani
Peter Reinhart

In our never ending search to celebrate true pizza artisans and artisanship we're very excited to announce that next week, on Sept. 1st., we begin our newest webisode series, this time featuring World Champion Pizzaiolo Tony Gemignani, owner of Tony's Pizza Napolatana in San Francisco.  Tony is already well known to many as the amazing, many times World Champion acrobatic dough tossing master, featured often on The Tonight Show, Letterman, and the Food Network. But not everyone knows that he is also the World Margherita Pizza Champion  and, in our visit with him, he tells us all about how he did it. You'll learn, as did we, what the judges looked for, the type of flour he used, the tricks that put him over the top and allowed him to beat the Naples and other Italian pizzaiolos on their own home turf. He'll also take us on a road trip to the tomato fields where we'll harvest tomatoes with one of his main suppliers, Stanislaus Tomatoes (as pizzeria owners know, one of the most beloved of all sauce brands). Finally, we'll also get to see inside his SF pizzeria where he makes every style of pizza and has a different oven for each style (he recently opened a similar place in NYC called 900 Degrees, so our east coast followers can get to taste his pizzas there). This is a great series and will run for a number of weeks. It all begins on Sept. 1st -- you're going to love it!

Coming Attractions, Week of August 22nd
Peter Reinhart

As summer begins to wane and autumn slowly fades in through the falling and changing leaves (for me, summer seems to end when August ends, not on Sept. 21s), here at Pizza Quest we find ourselves in transition too, moving from the Central Coast of California up to San Francisco to visit with Tony Gemignani, for a whole new adventure and series of webisodes featuring this world champion pizzaiolo. On Thursday I will post a preview of this series and tell you what we'll be covering, and then, on the following Thursday (Sept. 1st), we'll begin showing you the new webisodes.

On Tuesday we continue our exploration of the beer/pizza, pizza/beer connection with more about the upcoming collaboration between Pizza Quest, The Bruery, and Pizzeria Basta. This series is still being filmed and edited, but we don't want you to have to wait till it's finished to come along for the ride, which culminates during the last weekend of September in Denver at the Great American Beer Festival. Ooops, I've already said too much--join us Tuesday for more on this....

On Wednesday we have a new recipe from Brad for you called Pizza Balsamico. If the name of that pizza doesn't grab you I don't know what will, but check it out on Wednesday when our resident "If I can do it so can you" Pizza Quest co-founder, Brad English, shows you how it's done.

And on Friday, a special Guest Column from Brad's sister, Kristin English, on her first visit to Pizzeria Bianco. Yes, lest you wonder, it rocked her world.

All this and more where there's always something new, here at Pizza Quest!
