Although it may seem that your Outdoor Fireplace is dry by the time you are finished with your installation, there is still moisture in the fireplace, mortars and concrete that must work its way out. It is important at this point that you cure your oven slowly, by building a series of seven increasingly larger fires. If you begin building large fires in your oven right way, you could compromise your oven's longevity, and even cause damage.
Your first fire should be the size of a daily news paper, then become a increasingly larger every day, until you have a good size fire using 3"-4" wood by the end of the week.
Bring your fireplace up to full heat slowly over a number of days after a long period of damp or non-use.
