Calore Installation: Assemble the Firebox

Moisten the pieces of your Calore Outdoor Fireplace firebox, and bond them together with refractory mortar. Do not enclose the fireplace between fixed walls. If you are setting the fireplace between rigid walls, leave at least 1’ air space to allow for thermal expansion. Fill the air space with loose vermiculite insulation to keep heat from moving to the back of the fireplace.

Hints and Tips
Optionally, you can reinforce the installation using metal dowels. Drill matching holes in the Fireplace pieces and fit the pieces together using 2 ½’ galvanized finish nails.
