Default Render coat

Hi can anyone help . I have moulded an oven from premix refractory cement followed by a ceramic insulation blanket then chicken wire. what is a good render mix to cover this with as my last atemp cracked whilst setting and even more when firing. anyone cast there oven from refractory cement? if so how did it go? replys will be appreciated.
