Default rain hat modifications?

Attachment shows the look of the underside of the rain hat flashing from below. I guess this would normaly be on top of some ones roof and no one would notice but in my case is will look a bit unfinished. Not sure what to do. A few ideas are to put a clay sleve with an outer diam of about 12" to just kind of fit under tthis flashing so you dont look up and see the screws holding the rain hat on and the big overhang. This clay stack would I guess go all the way from the top of my vent to the underside of flashing. Also I might just go with my river rock that will face the dome and continue it all the way up to the underside of flashing but not sure about this. Will my type N mortar stick to stainless stack etc? Any ideas appretiated...thanks wayne
