  • Chimney Completion Photos

There is a general theme to the masonry chimney completions in the neighborhood....and then there's the variations.

Hopefully these can be used for ideas and inspiration.

              Re: Chimney Completion Photos

All those came on our afternoon walkabout yesterday...

note that the openings run all over the place, square, round, triangular, oval, arched, and also in combinations some simple(two tiles forming a inverted V, others more complex.

              Enjoy!

Now I'll reserve myself for extra special ones I run across.

                  XJim,
You sure have some interesting architecture in West Michigan

Great shots! Thanks for posting them. I used to walk around the towns in Sicily and take pics of the curch bell towers.

Cool! You even put in my favourite one in twice

Now if I were more certain of the strength of my vent, I'd really go for something like this.

Great thread, hope lots of builders are inspired by it!

Frances, that must mean your favourite is my favourite - the fluted terracotta one with the spire on top? Something for us to a-'spire' to??

Jim, they're all really cool - thanks for the in-'spire'ation!

Great photos Jim - that must have been a fun project. I really enjoy the traditional chimney cap.

                        Here are two more.

There are many fancy designs for chimney cowls in the Algarve, here's an example below :

Apparently there is an old tradition of showing off your wealth through having the fanciest chimney possible!

That probably relates to chimney pots as well. I've seen some really nice ones but I'm guessing you have a lot of varieties in the UK.
