| My oven is almost complete and now I am moving on to the decorative part of the oven. On the outside of the firebrick oven, I am going to lay housebrick around it match my home. Do I need special mortar to go between the housebrick walls and the firebrick walls or can standard bricking mortar work? |

| If you are talking about the general enclosure, then yes std mortar is fine as you will have insulation (perlite, ceramic blanket, ect) in between.
