What is the minimal usable opening size for a pizza oven?

First thoughts would say the minimal size of the opening would be determined by the size of the person who would be making whatever repairs might be necessary inside. Wiley

Wiley, interesting thought, I would love to get into my oven to make a repair or two. I believe the opening relates to the oven size itself. But I would make it big enough to fit a 16" pie

I found a really cool cast iron door but it is 17" wide x 11" tall

It will be a tight squeeze fo the 16" pie. but it should work

I'm not a big person (6ft and 170 lbs) and I could fit easily thru a door with the opening that is 17 x 11 inches. As for a 16 inch pizza, I'm a rookie and so far have been sitcking to pizzas around 12 inches. The opening on my WFO is 24" but it is a true half circle and so the useable dimensions that one has to enter and work are probably pretty close to (if not smaller) than the door of which you speak. And I fit inside my WFO...see photo. Wiley
