Default Location of temperature gauge?

Hi all. I am wondering where to locate my temperature gauge. I have purchased a good quality analogue gauge (with a long probe) that comes with a ceramic sleeve. My plan is to set the sleeve in place once I start laying the dome walls so I can slide the gauge in and out when I need to.

Or would I be better off leaving it in permanently?

Or would I be better off having it in the door?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers
Jase
