| I was having some problems finding firebrick here in Austin, but I finally found sources. :: Whitacre Greer :: Homeowner Paving Products :: and http://www.elginbutler.com just incase anyone out there looking for firebrick near Austin.

| You might try your local ACME dealer. My local one carries them for $1.11 each. Not to bad!

| I got my firebrick from MPI (Materials Products Inc). Let me know if you need Heatstop 50 mortar. I have an extra bag. Also have an extra bag of perlite.

| Chris, thanks for the offer. I might just take you up on that. I just broke ground today and should be posting pictures. If things go well...i hope to have my slab poured this weekend. Wish me luck
