Default Fire brick quantities for a Newbie

Hi guys,

Have decided to build myself a a 42" Pompeii oven and am putting together an order list and would like to roughly know how many bricks to order. I'm looking at 230 x 114 x 65mm bricks. The pdf estimates 65 bricks for the oven floor, 140 for the oven and 30 ish for the arch. 230 full bricks in total. Does this sound about right? Also was thinking of using a 255mm sliding mite saw with a diamond boade for cutting the bricks and soaking the bricks in water before hand. Does anyone else have any other techniques that a proficient DIY'r could use. Any advice would be gratefully received. Olly
