Default Chimney Questions

My Mason decided ondoing a masonry chimney rather then the 8" pipe. Isthis ok. Height wise I have read if the ovenis 36"deep then the chimney should be at least that in height. Any concerns if itis 2 inches short not including the cap of course? Also If the chimney is not 8" square is that a problem? Again he made this thing taper in like a fireplace chimney. Just making sure it will still draw outside the dome.

Hey Steve,

An 8" chimney (internal) will work just fine. Pizza ovens draw really well -- I think it's nature's way of saying that wood-fired cooking is good, so you are fine. A 6" (internal) chimney will draw well for a 36" oven. For height, there are many ovens with 24" of chimney above the vent, and they draw very well.

The shape isn't important, as long as you have enough volume (pi R squared), which you do. All is well.

James
