Default 42"pompei -coal question-

HI guys,ladies. Getting close to finishing wfo,and fireing up.I have some nut coal left over from my german coal stove i heated my home with THIS past winter,wondering if i could use it in my oven .I have seen a coal burning oven in port jefferson,ny and tasted pizza there and was quite good.What do you experts say?

We get this question asked a lot. Why don't you run an experiment and report back to us? I don't know if coal would burn right on the floor of the oven like wood does, or if you would need a grate to get air in from below. I think it's worth a try, particularly if you already have the coal.

I don't think I'd use it for the drying-out fires, though.
