| Hi I live in Eastern Ontario and i can't find high heat mortar in my area, the only thing I can find is already premixed. Does anybody know a distributor in Montreal or Ottawa area. Thanks Frank |

| Frank, Take a look for sarah_h's build threads. She's in the Ottawa area and I believe her solution was a bit of cross border shopping in NY state. I live in Toronto and decided to go the premix route. I know it's not recommended but our insulation and firebrick supplier (Alphatherm in Markham) has a refractory mortar that other clients have apparently had good results with for home-built ovens. (Not an objective source of products reviews, I know) Figured this would be easier than sourcing the ingredients for and mixing the homebrew especially because our build site is north of Toronto where specialised building supplies like fireclay can be hard to find. We're approaching the support slab step so it will be another few weeks until I have results to report. -David. |

| Frank: What brand of premix mortar are you using? We went with the Vesuvius Super #3000. -David.
