could you tell me if it would be possible to use fire bricks for the hearth and Red clay bricks for the dome?
I am trying to make the oven on a very very tight budget!

I think it is more dependent on how you intend to use your oven.
If you are a serious cook and expect to use the oven a lot, 4-6 times per week, then you really need to stick with the firebrick.
If this is going to get used 10-15 times a year, then the solid clay brick will probably hold up just fine.
