Default Question for Washington State Members

I am going to build my permanent oven this year in my back yard I currently have a temporary oven that I built using clay as the mortar. My question is should I have the local Fire Marshall come out and give me the ok to build or should I just build it.Am not sure on what local codes are.Do any of you other Washington builders have any knowledge.Any help or advice would be appreciated.Thanks............

I called the Seattle some-or-other to find out if I needed a permit. They hemmed and hawed a bit, then decided I didn't need a permit. Their primary concern was that it be ten feet from the property line.

Better call them yourself though. My anecdote won't do you much good in court.
