Smile Oven cleanout

Some ovens are shown with an opening in the floor of the oven just outside the entrance, Is an "ashpit" worthwhile? Jack

Default Only if you're using your oven for retained heat

An ash pit is not worth the trouble if you are making pizza. I don't have one and don't want one. I bake with a fire in the oven using direct heat.

If you plan to use your oven as a retained heat oven to bake bread, then an ash slot may be worth considering.
