 my composite hearth... I laid my hearth yesterday, which consists of a 5" vermiculite layer with an insulating board inlaid under the centre of the dome - I know it's not pretty! I only put the board in as I had it given to me (thank you David) and thought it would be good to use it. Anyway, I thought I'd ask all you structural engineers out there if any of you foresee future problems before it's too late to turn back...

| Re: my composite hearth... Good!! BTW I noticed your post from yesterday about the insulating board - I got it from a fellow FB forum user & oven builder who had it left over so I assume it's good for the job.
