| do you think using sand under the floor is fine for isulating the floor so the concrete doesn't suck the heat out of the brick. |

| No. The sand will suck the heat out instead... use proper insulation, either board or vermiculite concrete. We've seen it time and time again- with people having to go back and rework their floors to get them insulated, or just tear down and begin again.
