 inner arch to dome? Hi All, Thanks again for all the info. I have a question regarding the joint between the dome and the arch. I had a thought of maybe cutting the connecting bricks very tight and not mortaring them to the inner arch, I would fill any gap with insulation. My thinking is a slip or exspansion type joint might relieve some cracking on the archwork. Do you think there would be some reason not to pursue this? Any and all thoughts are appreciated!
