Default Have a crack in my dome

I started the firing process and i just saw this crack form. I also have little cracks all around the dome. What should i do to fix this and to prevent this? Also what should the temp be on the oven floor?

Cracks happen - throw a blanket on it , cover it with your cover of choice, and cook with it. What you are seeing is pretty much normal.

I used hot melt glue I tried supper glue at first but it didn't hold nearly as well as HM. The only down side was when it got to temp, it dripped onto the floor. But one fire later - all gone.

What is fire rated insulation? As I understand it, there are two sorts of products - regular insulation, which will not go up in flames if the house starts burning, but isn't built to stand high heat on a regular basis, or insulation products made for insulating round furnaces or ovens, which can deal with constant high temps. You really need the second kind of insulation.

If you can't find any, I believe vermcrete is also a perfectly acceptabe alternative. Personally, if I lived in the US, and if it had been available at the time, I would have gone for the FB insulation blanket, which strikes me as being a really good deal.

I dunno about the temp, my thermometer doesn't go up that high, but I just fire my oven until it goes white.
