Question Griddle (flat top)

I have a Blackstone 4 burner griddle (not grill). I was wondering about using the griddle top to cook the pizza on and building a fire-brick dome over it. I would build a fire on the back of the griddle as well as heating the griddle surface with the gas burners. Any thoughts?
