Default FB Board & Vermicrete

My oven stucture is complete, and I'm moving to the insulation step. Is there an issue putting the FB Board on top of the vermicrete? Not the entire structure, but at the transition area to the chimney. I want to try to get it a little more even to eliminate any potential airspace between the transisiton and the insulation.
