Default DuraVent Transition

I'm pretty sure that I'm going to go with the DuraVent and I'm wondering what size opening people suggest starting with which is then tapered to the DuraVent size? I was originally going to go with a 19x4.5 vent opening but now I'm wondering if I should go 19x8 tapered to 8x8?
