I am slowly getting my info and plans in place to build a pompeii style oven. About 32" similar to OscarA ( http://www.fornobravo.com/forum/f8/m...gun-15347.html (My 32" oven build has begun) ) I am currently in a townhouse with no room for an outdoor oven, but soon to move to a new suburb, house and a backyard suitable for a great entertaining area. i am after help with suppliers in sydney of fire bricks, mortar, reo, and all the other litlle things needed to complete a master oven. Thanks all in advance for advice and help. Cheers Brendan

| Hi Brendan, and welcome aboard. It is important to build your oven to best suit your and your circumstances and desires. Don't go too small if you want to cater for larger groups and family. I have a 40" Pompeii which allows me to cook up to 5 pizzas simultaneously with a fire still in the oven, albeit at the back and one side. There are members with much smaller ovens but still cook numerous meals but take a little longer. Download your plans, read, ask questions and as the say, 'just do it'! Cheers. Neill

| Hi Brendan, Like anything, the more you learn, the more you want to learn.. The process for me has been fantastic, with excellent info and feedback from forum users. I said to my wife the other day, "I'm looking forward to building the next oven to improve on what I have learnt." I haven't even finished the first oven.!!!!!!! Cheers Craig |

Hey mate, in Sydney you can get all your supplies from Field Furnace Refactory. They have a wealth of knowledge and are Wood Oven Specialists. I bought all my mortar, fire blankets etc from there: Field Furnace Refactories Pty Ltd - Wood Fire Pizza Ovens | Fire Bricks | Fire Tiles - Sydney, NSW. (02) 9729 1799 Wetherill Park. |

| hey mate, yeah after a longer than expected selling of my home, and longer than expected buying of a new home (with garden area to suit a large oven) i am this weekend quite certain to buy a house that has area large enough to build an oven. so in the coming months i will be looking madly for help, plans, products, ...and more help in the construction of my first pizza oven. so here we go boys and girls its on. well sort of, the dream is getting closer!! still unsure on build size, prob go a 32-36 inch. pretty standard type insulation etc like most other quality builds on this site. price aint the real issue, as we want it to last many years. i am a big believer in quality over quantity. cheers brendan
