| Ha. We are all in the la Mesa area. I live by helix high school. I am still trying to figure out location, size, and oven style. I want to do it on the cheap, so I am trying to figure out how to cut the bricks with out a tile saw. The most important thing is, I have to convince the wife. |

| All right!! 2 new oven builders right in my neighborhood. I am in El Cajon and finished my oven ( except for the mosaic) last summer. SoCalBri- the tile saw is really a work saver. It is on sale now at HF for $200. Thompson building materials, in Lemon Grove had the best prices on fire bricks that I found. I forget what I paid but it was about a 1/3 less than any other source I found locally. If you are doing this project on a budget, use the home brew mortar, and vermicrete ( though the ceramic blanket really rocks as an insulator, and you don't save a ton of money compared to doing the vermicrete over the whole dome. My build thread is listed under Eric's WFO Build. Any questions send me a message. Good Luck, Eric |
