| So, this thermometer... does it do Celsius or only Farenheit? I mean I'd be kind of interested, but its hard to know what I could offer you in return, what with shipping and all... a box of Swiss Christmas biscuits? A mosaic?

| Castiron, what do you want us to do? How do we comment on your posting? How about some more information of your find! Maybe you could attach a picture of the thermometer, a link for others to buy if they are still available! What are the temperature ranges, manufacturer name, model, etc. Is it better than those offered for sale through Forno Bravo? Information is what we need to make judgment, offer advice or thank you for some worthwhile and valuable information. Neill

| Taylor makes MANY models of hand held thermometers with prices ranging from around $100 US to over $500 US. Some with probes, some designed solely for use with thermocouples. Some only register from around -50F to 500F, others from -2400F (is that possible?) to nearly 3000F. We really need more info on what you are offering. RT |

| Great stuff Castiron, now you need the oven to use it on. The temperature range is a little low for a WFO as you will get one to around the 1000˚F or as I do over 500˚C I wouldn't have any faith on it's accuracy at 100 ft as the further away you get with them, the wider the beam and the accuracy is diminished quite significantly. A good starter though and can be used around the house to check bath water, hot surface temps etc when you have young children around. I even use mine to check the pool temp. Neill

| Neill ...I did not notice that the temp. range was low till I got info off the website,so your right looks like it's a dud for the WFO crowd....My other one does go up to 1000 plus.As far as an oven I built one this Summer.I posted pictures a while back. It's in a temporary location, and I used Red Art clay as the mortar.Has been working great for the last 6 months. Will build my permanent one in 2009..I just know that it has been great cooking pizza out doors and my family and friends are always wanting me to cook pizza. There is nothing like WFO pizza..Take Care........... ![]() |
