Default Damper Ideas?

We have had a Casa 90 that we've been enjoying for the past few years- this was an interior install. We live in the North East though and are tired of stuffing insulation up the flue to prevent the rush of cold air into our kitchen in the cold months. I'm curious to know what others are doing in the same situation. Any creative, more permanent solutions out there that are more aesthetic?

Default Re: Damper Ideas?

Dampers are notoriously leaky, in the case of wood stoves, intentionally so, to prevent the formation of carbon monoxide. They make better ones, for masonry heaters, but I don't know how you would retrofit one to your chimney.

Maybe a front door with a rope seal?
