Default Proud parent moment

Hey guys,

Warning, warning. Proud parent alert.

Our oldest daughter was accept to MIT this week and she has committed to attend. She's thrilled -- it was her first choice. Plus, I now have a great excuse to run the Boston marathon and drop in for visit for the next four years. Getting into college is so hard these days, we're really happy.

James

That is awesome James - incredible school. Has she chosen a major yet? (not that it matters, just having those letters on a diploma speaks volumes)

Hey Les,

Environmental engineering, at least for now. I'm looking forward to meeting the materials engineering department -- those guys will know a few things about insulation and high temperature materials. haha.

She is also going to run track.

Awesome opportunity! Speaks to good parenting James.

I found an interesting article about MIT scientists this week: here. Not too distant from your daughter's intersts.

Congratulations James,
I hope that your families sucessess bring you as much pride and pleasure as my 3 children have bought us.
All have professional positions of responsibility and 2 have university degrees. My son is also doing a second degree. All have 2 children and we couldn't be happier with their partners, professions and families.
The fact that you might get materials information to benefit FB is a mere off spin but your daughter sounds like she is about to follow in similar shoes to you.
You have good reason to be proud and thank you for sharing your pride.
