Default Alpaca shearing

To all our aussie WFO owners...I have a nephew who is an Alpaca shearer and he is interested in coming to Australia to do some shearing work during his off season here in the US. If you know of anyone who owns Alpaca or might have more information please let me know through the forum or ask them to check out his websiteShearing Alpacas, Biosecure Alpaca Shearing, Alpaca Shearer. and they can contact him directly. Thanks in advance for any assistance!
All the best!
Dutch

Dutch,

Don't you shear them like sheep? Our brothers down under are really good with sheep. My opinion is totally based on movies I have seen.

Thumbs up Re: Alpaca shearing

Hi Dutch,
My brother now lives over there with you lot (in the USA) and was the Australian Alpaca Association President for over 10 years.
He is now one of the world authorities and is trying to organise the US industry and travels/tours/lectures through out South America, the US and Europe. You should send him an email: ian@alpacahandbook.com
to get some contacts or suggestions. Maybe there can be an advertisement placed on their web page or in their newsletter which goes out to all their members.
Give him a call.

Neill

Thanks Neill,
I have passed the information along and hopefully it will work out nicely. I just new a forum like we have would bring about some positive results.

Les,
Stop being such a smart alec ...he's pretty good with sheep too...although I don't think he's been in any movies

Hey Dutch, its a while back by now... but what do they do with all the fluff? I'd love to get my hands on some alpaca fleece.
