Default Starting from scratch

Hi,
óne of my freinds has built 3 clay ovens, but I'm keener on making a brick oven as brick are more weather proof? Also I cant see that much more work in it as i'd have to source and mix clay etc and then have a durability issue. It would be much easier to fabricated a Gal steel stand and build on this due to uneven ground of site available. There are huge trees over head but otherwise think I have enough space around oven. Being from Sydney I'll have to source all the bits and pieces - I've been to the local brick place and the guy suggested fired commons - cheap and baked to high temperature. Also i can get sheet foam easily. The arched foam pieces as a support seem the easiest way to get the curve spot on without too much hassle.
Can anyone give me advice / feedback with dos/donts etc
thanks
Matt
