| Hello all, I'm Pete and live in the North of England, near Manchester. This summer, I am building an oven in the garden with the help of my two kids. I will have lots of questions once I get going! I've only just started and am very taken with the Pompei oven plans, currently sourcing the fire bricks. I had a chat with a supplier today who suugested that it would be ok building the dome with regular sand and cement, then pointing the inside with fire cement. Anyone done this? Any opinions? Pete |

| Why BP? Are you trying to save money? I'm sure there are better opinions here but me thinks there is not a lot of pointing needed with tight fitting bricks. I'd invest in a good high heat mortar mix.... Jim
